More Time …
A time to weep, And a time to laugh;
A time to mourn, And a time to dance;
I have had times in my life where I have wept, laughed, mourned and danced, and occasionally, I have done all at one time! The valleys of our lives are filled with weeping and mourning, and the mountain tops are full of laughter and dancing.
But, no matter where we are in life, we are not alone. Friends and family go with us. They are there to talk to when we need to talk, and they are there to hold us when we cry. They are also there when we laugh, rolling on the floor with us as the laughter leaves us breathless and dancing around with joy and happiness of the moment.
But, there are times when friends and family just don’t get it, they don’t understand what we are going through or what we need. At that time, there is someone else with us, someone who always understands and will be there no matter what.
Yea, though I walk through
the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Psalm 23:4 (KJV)
Our Father, God, Abba. The same by all names, He is there with us. Whether we are laughing or weeping, mourning or dancing, He is laughing with us at the antics of one of His animals. He weeps with us over the choices that some make, leading to evil in the world. He holds us as we mourn when we lose someone that means so much to us, and He dances with us as we understand that the one we lost is now found with Him.
As we move through these times in our lives, we slowly begin to understand that things change and usually happen when we are not expecting it. We move through our days at a routine familiar to each of us, waking, eating, taking care of daily business.
How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God!
how great is the sum of them!
If I should count them,
they are more in number than the sand:
when I awake, I am still with thee.
Psalm 139:17:18 (KJV)
Changes happen, sometimes causing grief, sometimes happiness. But, if we keep our eyes looking forward, toward the One who will be there in the end, the bad times will seem a little easier, over time, and the good times will be that much brighter!
